Overview:
Are you passionate about workplace safety? As our clients Safety Coordinator, you'll ensure a safe and healthy environment for our clients team, overseeing and implementing safety protocols in line with company standards, WorkSafeBC regulations, and the Environmental Code of Practice. You'll also develop safety policies and inspire safe work habits across the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and audit company safety measures to comply with WorkSafeBC.
  • Actively promote and maintain safety standards.
  • Assist with safety equipment setup and cleanup.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and enforce safety policies.
  • Identify risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct post-accident investigations and follow-up.
  • Manage WCB claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Organize and deliver employee safety training.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings at all locations.
  • Maintain PPE and first aid supplies inventory.
  • Handle environmental code reporting and liaise with the Ministry of Environment.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant education in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Therapy, Human Resources, Kinesiology, or another relevant field. 
  • CRSP/CSP designation is an asset.
  • Level 2 First Aid required; Level 3 preferred.
  • WHIMIS, Confined Space, and Fall Protection certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • 3-5+ years in occupational health and safety, preferably with WorkSafeBC experience.
  • Hands-on first aid experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of machinery, vehicles, and equipment operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills (for leading company meetings/discussions).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capable of motivating and leading others in safety practices.
  • Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights.
  • Comfortable working near machinery in varying conditions.
