As the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the entire production operation from the office to the shop floor. You’ll ensure workflow efficiency, product quality, safety, and on-time delivery—while continually improving processes and managing performance across multiple departments.
Operations & Production Oversight
- Lead day-to-day operations across production, design, estimating, shipping/receiving, and sales support
- Plan and execute production schedules aligned with customer timelines and business objectives
- Streamline workflow and optimize resource allocation to improve throughput and reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards at all times
- Analyze operations data and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase output
- Maintain strict control of inventory levels and coordinate material supply needs
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics; report regularly to senior leadership
- Manage and coordinate the work of supervisors, designers, and other key team members
- Make informed staffing decisions: hiring, scheduling, disciplinary actions, and promotions
- Ensure proper training and role alignment to meet production needs and quality expectations
- Work closely with sales, estimating, and design teams to ensure accuracy, customer satisfaction, and on-time delivery
- Partner with HR for workforce planning, payroll coordination, and employee policy compliance
- Collaborate with finance on production budgets, forecasting, and cost management
We are seeking a confident, capable leader with hands-on operational expertise and a track record of driving performance in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in operations, production, or plant management (floor/truss industry preferred but not required)
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, Logistics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory control, and quality assurance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and operational management software
- Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work on-site daily; access to a reliable vehicle (non-transit-accessible location)
- Experience with floor and roof truss production
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Working knowledge of construction, wood manufacturing, or prefab component production
