Due to an upcoming retirement, they are seeking a dynamic National Account Manager (Retail) to join their team and drive success across the Canadian retail market. Located in either Toronto or Montreal, we are seeking an experienced industry professional to take on this vital role.

Role Overview:
The National Account Manager will play a pivotal role in elevating Taymor’s market presence within Canada’s largest building supply retailers. The mandate of the role is to grow sales, increase gross margins, and solidify Taymor’s position as a top choice for national accounts and big-box retailers. Working closely with the Director of Sales and the Eastern Sales Manager, the National Account Manager will lead strategic relationships, implement an omnichannel strategy, and drive the introduction of new products to the market.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to);
Strategic Relationship Management
- Lead strategic national account planning to expand Taymor’s market share with target customers.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with key management across large national retailers.
- Represent Taymor at trade associations, customer shows, and other networking activities within the DIY and contractor-focused markets.
Opportunity Management
- Drive sales growth and market share with national accounts such as Kent, Home Depot, Rona, Orgill, BMR, Peavey, Federated Co-op, CTC, and Home Hardware.
- Lead annual negotiations and reviews with buying groups and national accounts.
- Coach and manage a dedicated team to ensure effective sales strategies and successful product launches.
Delivery & Support
- Regularly review team performance, holding them accountable for delivering results.
- Collaborate with product management on pricing strategies and tactical initiatives.
- Support supply chain and inventory management teams to optimize inventory and on-time delivery performance.

Experience:
- 5+ years of success working within the DIY home improvement sector or contractor-focused lumber yards.
- Prior people management experience – sales teams in particular as this role supports a small team of Outside Sales and Sales Agents.
- 3+ years of retail omnichannel experience.
- Experience in the door & hardware or plumbing channels would be viewed as an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Strong ability to communicate technical product features effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Travel required (40%) to engage with customers and adequately support the sales team.
- Fluency in both Canadian official languages would be viewed as an asset. (English/French)
