After completing her Diploma in Communications and Interior Design; her path took into the Recruitment world where she gained around 8 years of experience before joining the corporate sector as a Program and Project Manager in a large Oil and Gas Company before joining her husband’s contracting company as an Interior Designer and Operations Manager for the last 7 years. As a result, she developed a large network of industry professionals in the Building Materials space and has both the technical understanding of the design and construction processes as well as an active network and deep-rooted connections within the industry. The combination of Tara’s education, experience and passion for Design and Building Materials space fuels her goals to develop further relationships with her clients and candidates and her focus on developing specifically in the industries of design and building materials. Tara has been married for 21 years and has two daughters: one in University and one on High School. Together they have two cats and a dog! Our client is looking for a dynamic and hands-on Marketing/Advertising Manager to join their team. With over 50 years in business in Canada and the  United States, they are committed to delivering exceptional value and support to all their stores.

Position Summary:

The Marketing/Advertising Manager will lead the Marketing/Advertising Department, focusing on developing strong, direct relationships with store owners and managers. The Marketing Manager will provide hands-on support, create innovative content, and implement strategies to drive traffic and enhance store engagement.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, action-oriented individual who is ready to roll up their sleeves and take on a variety of tasks—from packing orders to creating fresh marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and nurture relationships with store owners and managers through direct communication, including phone calls and in-person visits. Troubleshoot issues, provide coaching, and offer tailored support to stores. Actively gather and respond to feedback, going beyond traditional surveys to understand store needs.
  • Monitor and manage advertising costs to ensure optimal return on investment (ROI) for each advertising method.
  • Create innovative and engaging content, thinking outside the box beyond traditional marketing practices.
  • Review, evaluate, and enhance current advertising programs to maximize their impact.
  • Propose and implement new advertising initiatives with clear success metrics.
  • Identify and seize opportunities to drive traffic conversions to stores via the corporate website.
  • Plan and schedule workloads to meet deadlines and complete projects efficiently.
  • Collaborate with external consultants for specialized marketing campaigns.
  • Provide monthly reports to Senior Management.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to internal training and development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Marketing or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google office systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable advertising laws and regulations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in retail.
  • Experience in the Building Materials sector is an asset.
  • Must be a permanent resident of Canada with the ability to travel to the USA.

Salary Band - 120,000 to 150,000 per year + Benefits + 3 Weeks Vacation + Bonus
