We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil/Industrial Construction Estimator to join our client's growing team in the Fraser Valley, BC. This is a newly created position, aimed to join a newly created division within the company.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in preparing lump sum estimates for large-scale projects valued between $10M - $25M+ and possess the ability to lead a small team of junior estimators. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Lump Sum Estimates: Develop detailed and accurate lump sum estimates for heavy civil and industrial construction projects with budgets exceeding $25M.
- Lead Estimating Team: Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of junior estimators, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the preparation of bids.
- Bid Preparation: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities within estimates and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination: Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and comprehensive coverage of the project scope.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their requirements and expectations, providing clear and concise communication throughout the bidding process.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on current market trends, pricing, and industry standards to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Bid Review: Participate in bid reviews and presentations, ensuring all estimates are thorough, accurate, and align with company objectives.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and correspondence, ensuring transparency and accessibility for future reference.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil and/or industrial construction estimating, with a focus on lump sum estimates.
- Team Leadership: Proven experience leading a team of estimators, with strong mentorship and communication skills.
- Education: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
