Our client is searching for a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions in a fast-paced Lumber & Building Materials (LBM) distribution environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation band management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and the ability to foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:Talent Acquisition & Retention:
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting top talent.
  • Develop job descriptions and manage job postings to attract qualified candidates.
  • Manage offer negotiations, employment contracts, and onboarding processes.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand hiring needs and workforce planning.
Compensation & Benefits Management:
  • Develop, manage, and analyze compensation bands to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with leadership to review and adjust salary structures as needed.
  • Oversee the administration of benefits, compensation, and payroll coordination.
  • Provide salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, and role adjustments.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and manage HR documentation.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.
HR Generalist Functions:
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support business objectives.
  • Manage terminations, exit interviews, and offboarding processes.
  • Support leadership in performance management, coaching, and employee development.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in the Lumber & Building Materials (LBM) distribution industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, compensation structures, and HR generalist duties.
  • Experience with salary benchmarking and compensation band development.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
