Estimating Manager – Specialty Flooring Contractor
Location: Burnaby (Brentwood Mall Area)
$100,000–$150,000 + Profit-Sharing Bonus ($15,000–$20,000) + 3 Weeks Vacation + Comprehensive Benefits Package

About the Company
Join one of Vancouver’s leading specialty flooring contractors! Over the past four years, our client has tripled in size and established themselves as one of the top flooring installers in the region.

Our client's specialization has been tile, stone, and ceramic installations, but they’re expanding to meet client demand. With a strong, collaborative office team, they offer a supportive environment where technology, tight processes, and work-life balance are prioritized.

Why This Role?
As the current Manager prepares for retirement, we’re looking for an Estimating Manager who can step in, lead the estimating team, and uphold the high standards that have driven success to date.

This is a rare leadership opportunity to manage a high-performing team, refine efficient processes, and help the company grow to new heights—all while maintaining balance and stability in your professional life.

Role Overview
In this role, you'll lead a team of four estimators and oversee $8–11 million in bids monthly. You'll be responsible for managing workloads, maintaining relationships with top-tier clients, and ensuring that estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project execution.

You'll also have the chance to work on complex, high-profile commercial and residential projects, where your expertise in hard surface flooring will be invaluable.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
  • Manage and mentor a team of 4 estimators (senior, mid-level, and two promising newer hires).
  • Oversee workloads, deadlines, and team performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely bid submissions.
Estimating & Bidding:
  • Manage bids totaling $8–11 million per month.
  • Ensure accurate quantity take-offs and comprehensive bids, including insurance and bonding requirements.
  • Focus on hard surface flooring projects (tile, stone, ceramics), with materials sourced globally.
  • Bridge the gap between estimating and on-site project execution to ensure realistic, implementable estimates.
Client Relations:
  • Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 general contractors.
  • Handle bids for high-end residential and commercial projects.
Process Optimization:
  • Refine and maintain streamlined systems.
  • Leverage technology, including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and MS Office, to maximize efficiency.
  • Keep overhead costs low while enhancing team productivity.

Experience:
  • 7–10+ years in estimating, ideally within flooring or hard surfaces (tile and stone preferred).
  • Experience in building materials, building envelope, commercial  or multi-family residential construction
  • Prior experience leading or managing an estimating team.
Skills:
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and standard office software.
  • Strong understanding of on-site project execution and how it connects to the estimating process.

What’s In It For You?
  • Leadership Role: Manage a talented team with efficient systems already in place.
  • Growth Potential: Be part of a company on track to dominate the Vancouver flooring market.
  • Work-Life Balance: Supportive culture with clear processes and realistic expectations.
  • Stability & Security: High-profile projects and long-term client relationships.
  • Profit Sharing: Bonus tied to company performance, offering strong earning potential.
Ready to Lead a Winning Team?
If you’re a skilled estimator with a passion for precision, leadership, and process-driven success, we want to hear from you. Apply today and be part of a company where your expertise is valued, and your career can thrive.
