Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of 4 estimators (senior, mid-level, and two promising newer hires).
- Oversee workloads, deadlines, and team performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely bid submissions.
- Manage bids totaling $8–11 million per month.
- Ensure accurate quantity take-offs and comprehensive bids, including insurance and bonding requirements.
- Focus on hard surface flooring projects (tile, stone, ceramics), with materials sourced globally.
- Bridge the gap between estimating and on-site project execution to ensure realistic, implementable estimates.
- Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 general contractors.
- Handle bids for high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Refine and maintain streamlined systems.
- Leverage technology, including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and MS Office, to maximize efficiency.
- Keep overhead costs low while enhancing team productivity.
Experience:
- 7–10+ years in estimating, ideally within flooring or hard surfaces (tile and stone preferred).
- Experience in building materials, building envelope, commercial or multi-family residential construction
- Prior experience leading or managing an estimating team.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and standard office software.
- Strong understanding of on-site project execution and how it connects to the estimating process.
