About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Commodity Trader to manage lumber procurement, pricing, and sales while ensuring optimal inventory levels. This role involves working closely with mills, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain a competitive product offering and drive profitability. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to develop market strategies, build relationships, and identify growth opportunities within Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. This is a hunter-style sales role that requires a proactive approach to business development, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to close deals while maintaining credibility in the market.

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of experience in commodity trading, procurement, or sales within the building materials industry. A deep understanding of the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario markets, strong mill relationships, and a proven ability to manage inventory efficiently are essential. You should be highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Familiarity with CRM systems and reporting tools will be an asset.
